The Locations
Mylor Harbour & Falmouth
Our main base is Mylor Harbour, near Falmouth.
This specific area offers the best Bluefin Tuna fishing in the UK.
Falmouth Bay and its approaches attract a huge amount of Bluefin every year. If the wind blows up from the west, there is some shelter from the headland, minimising the likely-hood of cancellation due to weather.
Parking is easy at Mylor Harbour and the facilities are great but the scenery is also stunning. When you leave the marina and head out of the Fal river, you are surrounded by countryside views, not an industrial landscape. You then pass the impressive St Mawes Castle and St Anthonys Lighthouse before heading out in search of the mighty Bluefin.
The wildlife off Falmouth is incredible with dolphins, gannets and shearwaters being daily companions. Some days we also encounter minke whales, humpback whales and risso’s dolphins. It’s a wildlife tour, scenic tour and big game fishing day rolled into one!
So there are so many reasons to choose Falmouth and indeed Mylor for the all-round experience.
St Mawes
We also pick up from the harbourside in St Mawes, 20 minutes from Mylor as some of our guests like to stay here.
Weymouth & Portland
The area of Portland is not as reliable early season but as the months progress, more fish move in. We move back to our home port of Weymouth and fish the waters between Portland and Brixham during November.
